Laundry- Full time (6AM-6PM)

The purpose of this position is to perform the day-to-day activities of the Laundry Department in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, and the facilitys policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Interpret work schedules and assignments Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily schedules Collect soiled linens, personal clothing of patients, towels, etc.
and wash same Remove line, towels from dryer after thoroughly drying Sort, fold and store linen in clean linen room in orderly manner Press patients personal clothing as appropriate Report linen needs to supervisor Clean equipment and work area daily or as needed Keep work areas free of hazardous conditions, spills, excess carts, baskets, supplies, equipment, etc.
Sort soiled laundry, linen, garments, etc.
, and separate routine laundry items from items requiring stain removal treatment Discard waste and trash into proper containers and line receptacles with plastic liners Maintain privacy of patients and confidentiality of patient information Maintain dignity and respect for patients personal and property rights Attend and participate in in-service education classes, on-the-job training programs as scheduled or directed.
Comply with established infection control and universal precaution practices, and coordinate routine/terminal isolation procedures with nursing services Follow fire safety policies and procedures Report all incidents, accidents, hazardous conditions or equipment to supervisor immediately Report defective patient call lights, light bulbs, exit lights, overhead lights, fluorescent lights to supervisor immediately Deliver linen to patients rooms Follow the established universal precautions and isolation procedures Encourage an atmosphere of optimism, warmth and interest in patients personal and health care needs Other duties as assigned by the SupervisorJOB REQUIREMENTS:
